History
The first structure went up over Hafez's grave in the fifteenth century. What stands today dates from 1936, designed by André Godard, the French architect then running Iran's antiquities service.
The gravestone is Yazd marble, carved with two ghazals. The dome is turquoise tile outside and coloured ribs inside, which the daylight passes through.
Visiting
Daily 8am to 10pm; until 8pm in the cold months. It is lit at night, and the busiest hour is just after sunset.
Access
The path from the entrance to the main portico is level and step-free. The tomb platform itself is six steps up, with no ramp.
Check in
A QR code is posted at the entrance. Scanning it records your visit in your cultural passport.
